First production rotor combine TORUM rolled off Rostselmash assembly line

Rostselmash has produced the first production rotor combine TORUM based on fundamentally new rotor threshing and separating device named ARS (Advance Rotor System). During the international innovation contest held in Paris this system was awarded the silver medal. In 2009 Rostselmash is planning to produce over 200 rotor combines TORUM most of which have already found their customers.

“Rotor combine TORUM is an important milestone in company’s development. It would be enough to mention that TORUM design includes over two dozens of the patented engineering solutions. TORUM was produced during the though time of the world financial and economic crisis. The last few months were also very difficult for Rostselmash, however TORUM project wasn’t stop for a minute”, said Valery Maltsev, Director General of Rostselmash.

According to Valery Maltsev, Director General of Rostselmash “while designing this machine the company continued to follow its corporate strategy which sets combine’s economic efficiency as the basis. TORUM doesn’t have yield capacity limit. It is capable of harvesting 1500–2000 ha. per season. TORUM will be demanded by agroholdings, major farms and, of course, farmers”.

The combine is based on a fundamentally new rotor threshing and separating device named Advance Rotor System. Among any other systems this one is notable for beater crop feed elevator, rotor variable ratio drive and revolving concave. Design enables to thresh within the range of 360˚. The concave turns opposite to the rotor. Such design almost excludes thresher jamming on complicated fields and considerably increases combine’s performance. During the international innovation contest this system was awarded the silver medal.

Rostselmash offers a range of additional options for TORUM rotor combines. Combines with air compressor, central lubrication system and fuel consumption control system are offered apart from all-wheel drive and half-caterpillar versions.

TORUM rotor combines are aimed at high-intensity application within modern agricultural technologies on high-yield fields.
